From the living room to the boardroom, TEMPO has fostered a generation of women leaders.

In 1981, Jean Manchester-Biddick wasn’t allowed to join the “men’s” service and social organizations in Madison. She was understandably frustrated, as managing her own company required her to know suppliers and foster relationships with potential customers.

|
The first TEMPO was formed by a handful of managers in Milwaukee in 1975. After extensive research, Jean and a handful of other visionaries decided it was time for Madison to have its own chapter of TEMPO.
And yes, the first meeting was held in a living room!
