Organizationally, the first step was to construct a membership roster including:
- Those women who had "arrived" and already wielded significant power
- Those who held positions of influence but who were not necessarily part of the "inner circle,"
- Those women of talent, drive and ambition who had the potential for being magnates in the community, thus ensuring the continuing influence of TEMPO.
Designed neither as a social club, service club, nor women's club per se, TEMPO continues to grow, adapt and change while staying true to its mission of supporting, empowering, and mentoring female leaders.
