February Meeting

"Who Says Shari'a Demands the Stoning of Women?  An Introduction to Islamic Law and Why It Matters for Feminism"

Dr. Asifa Quraishi will draw from her work on adultery cases in Pakistan and Nigeria to introduce the basic workings of Islamic law in both classical and contemporary contexts.  She will pay particular attention to international feminist work, and the interaction between contemporary feminist and Islamist activists, and the resulting (often negative) impact on Muslim women.

Plan to join us on Tuesday, February 9 for this exciting program. The entrees for this meeting will be: Coq au vin or baked eggplant napoleon. Guests are welcome to attend this meeting. The guest fee is $25. Please pay on-line when you register your guest. Please note that we accept only Visa or MasterCard and the address provided must be the same as on the card. RSVPs are requested by February 4. February Lunch Registration
