Deborah A. Biddle is a finance-savvy board director and governance strategist with a 30-year career that includes corporate finance, human capital leadership, culture transformation, and CEO advisory roles. She provides a unique blend of analytical discipline and organizational insight, gained through early finance roles at Motorola and Abbott Laboratories and further honed through extensive governance leadership across various sectors.

Deborah started her career in financial analysis, manufacturing accounting, operational cost modeling, and divisional controllership. These experiences grounded her in financial responsibility, accuracy, and systems thinking—skills that influence her enterprise-level decision-making and her ability to quickly interpret financial signals, operational structures, and leadership effectiveness.

As the Founder of The People Company Consulting Group, she collaborates with CEOs and executive teams navigating strategic inflection points, organizational growth, and cultural transformation. She helps leadership teams anticipate risks, strengthen decision-making frameworks, enhance talent performance, and develop systems that support both operational outcomes and long-term sustainability. Her work often focuses on moments when the stakes are high—such as leadership transitions, reputation challenges, culture resets, workforce shifts, and periods of rapid growth.

A seasoned governance leader, Deborah has served as Board Chair of the Madison Youth Arts Center, Board Member of the Verona Area School District, and Vice Chair of Impact Christian Schools. She is currently Board Secretary for TEMPO Madison and contributes to the UnityPoint Health–Meriter Community Health Impact Committee and the United Way of Dane County People, Culture & Rewards Committee. She also advises the Rotary Club of Madison on strategy, governance, and organizational belonging, helping leaders align culture with mission and performance.

Deborah is known for her ability to spot emerging risks, interpret leadership signals, and foresee cultural or reputational issues before they affect performance. Her cross-sector experience includes healthcare, education, arts and culture, youth development, economic mobility, and community impact—giving her a uniquely broad view of stakeholder needs, organizational behavior, and governance responsibilities.

With an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a BA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, Deborah combines financial discipline with insightful leadership. She offers thought leadership through keynote speaking, media engagement, and executive education—translating complex organizational dynamics into practical, actionable guidance for leaders and boards.

Known for her calm clarity, principled judgment, and steady presence in moments of uncertainty, Deborah offers a balanced voice in the boardroom—combining financial oversight, strategic thinking, organizational health, and long-term sustainability.
